Terms of Use
By downloading or using Guilt Trip, you agree to these terms. They work alongside, and don’t replace, Apple’s own Standard End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app.
01 What Guilt Trip does and doesn’t promise
Guilt Trip is a screen-time coaching tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or provide therapy for any condition. There is no single authoritative guideline for how much screen time is “healthy” for an adult, and Guilt Trip does not claim to know one for you — any reference to published movement or screen-time guidelines in the app is offered as context, never as medical advice or a promise about your mood, wellbeing, or health outcomes.
If you are concerned about your own or a family member’s screen use, mental health, or wellbeing, talk to a qualified professional. Guilt Trip is a tool to help build a habit, not a substitute for that conversation.
02 Screen Time enforcement has limits
Guilt Trip blocks apps, categories, and websites using Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks, within the limits Apple’s APIs allow. Apple’s operating system, not Guilt Trip, ultimately controls whether a block is enforced, and iOS updates or bugs can occasionally affect that behavior. Guilt Trip is not liable for a block that fails to apply, applies incorrectly, or is bypassed through means outside the app’s control (for example, a second Apple Account, a different device, or iOS settings changed outside the app).
03 Free plan and Guilt Trip Pro
Guilt Trip’s free plan manages up to two individual apps with the app’s full reward and cooldown system. Guilt Trip Pro removes that limit, adds whole-category blocking, web escape routes, parental controls (a parent PIN with chores, learning rewards, and extra-time grants), and any future Pro features, for as long as your purchase or subscription remains active.
04 Subscriptions and purchases
Guilt Trip Pro is offered on the following plans. Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by region; the exact price for your country is always shown by Apple before you confirm a purchase.
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $2.99 / month | Automatically, every month |
| Yearly | $9.99 / year | Automatically, every year |
| Lifetime | $19.99 once | Never — a one-time purchase, shareable with your Family Sharing group |
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Monthly and Yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price shown for that plan.
- You can manage your subscription or turn off auto-renewal anytime in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your device, after purchase.
- The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase with no recurring charge. Through Apple’s Family Sharing, it also covers members of your family group.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if one is offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under Apple’s own refund policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
05 Account and eligibility
Guilt Trip has no account of its own — access to purchases follows your Apple Account. You’re responsible for keeping your device and Apple Account secure, and for any activity that happens under it.
06 Acceptable use
Don’t use Guilt Trip to try to extract, reverse-engineer, or circumvent Apple’s Family Controls or Screen Time protections for purposes unrelated to the app’s intended use, or in a way that violates Apple’s own terms.
07 Disclaimer of warranties
Guilt Trip is provided “as is.” We don’t warrant that enforcement, notifications, or any reward calculation will be error-free or uninterrupted, given the constraints described in Section 2.
08 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guilt Trip’s developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including a missed block, a miscalculated reward, or reliance on in-app guidance as health advice.
09 Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use Guilt Trip after an update means you accept the revised terms.
